- 911 Terrorist Attacks – Bishop PJ’s Statement
- Sacred Heart Nativity School for boys opens; Christ the King Parish is dedicated
2005
- Pope Saint John Paul II dies and he is succeeded by the late Pope Benedict XVI
- elevates Korean Community Mission to Holy Korean Martyrs Parish
- ordains the 1st class of Permanent Diaconate for the diocese

- Our Lady of Grace Nativity School for girls opens

- Renames St. Patrick’s Proto-Cathedral as Our Lady of La Vang; approves Immaculate Heart of Mary Oratory to serve as the center for the Extraordinary Form of the Mass for the diocese.

- Rededicates historical Holy Cross parish. Retires at 20th DSJ Episcopal Anniversary.
